Mission Planning & Simulation
Mission planning provides the basis for the coordinated operation of individual machines and heterogeneous machine fleets. Within the web-based platform, fields, field boundaries, field entrances, obstacles, tractors, implements and field operations are combined into a complete mission. Based on this information, the system plans the field operation strategy from entering to leaving the field – including guidance lines, headlands, turning manoeuvres, transfer routes, work sequences, operating speeds and machine parameters. When multiple vehicles are involved, the workload is distributed among the available machines and divided into coordinated sub-missions.
Before being transferred to the machines, the planned mission can be simulated and visually reviewed. The simulation visualises the temporal and spatial sequence of field operations for individual machines or heterogeneous machine fleets and supports different types of tractors, self-propelled machines and implements. Forward and reverse playback allows users to review the driving sequence, headland turns, working areas and the coordinated interaction between machines.

This enables the early detection of potential collisions with field boundaries, obstacles or other machines, non-traversable trajectories and unsuitable field operation sequences.

The combination of mission planning and simulation improves operational safety and planning quality before machines are deployed in the field. Farmers can review planned field operations in a clear and intuitive way, while developers and agricultural machinery manufacturers can validate operating strategies, vehicle models and system integrations under reproducible conditions. Once successfully validated, the mission is transferred to the participating machines and monitored by MissionControl during field operation.
