The Feldschwarm® Ecosystem continues to gain momentum: industry and research partners are working together to develop a manufacturer-independent platform that will enable agricultural machinery and robots to operate safely and efficiently as a swarm. A Czech trade article provides insights into current developments, field trials and technologies – and shows how the project is paving the way for connected, automated and sustainable agriculture.
Field robotics in collaboration: Field Swarm gains momentum
22.09.2025
The Field Swarm Ecosystem research project is developing a manufacturer-independent platform that enables agricultural machinery and robots to operate in coordinated swarms—ranging from semi-autonomous to fully autonomous—while remaining under human control. The goal is to increase productivity, improve resource efficiency, and ensure integration into existing agricultural IT systems.
Since 2023, the technology has been tested under real-world conditions and is scheduled for public demonstration in 2025. It is based on a scalable control and data architecture with standardized interfaces, as well as integrated safety and diagnostic systems, and is designed to be opened up to additional manufacturers in the long term.
